At your next visit to our facility, we encourage you to discuss sedation dentistry with Dr. Ramirez so that we can help choose a sedation method that meets your needs and keeps you relaxed. We offer a few safe and effective options at our state-of-the-art facilities.

Sedation Options

Sedation dentistry is an excellent option for patients who are nervous or anxious about undergoing necessary dental treatment. The practice of sedation dentistry involves using a sedative medication to calm and relax the patient during treatment. NobelPerio offers a few options, which will be chosen according to your individual needs and preferences:

  • Nitrous oxide  Often called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a sedative gas and oxygen solution that is simply inhaled prior to and during treatment. This mild form of sedation wears off within minutes of stopping the flow of gas.
  • Oral sedation  Or oral-conscious sedation, involves taking an oral medication prior to your appointment. This medication will leave you calm and relaxed but alert and able to respond to simple commands.
  • IV sedation  For this sedation type, medication is intravenously administered, offering fast and effective management of discomfort or anxiety. While IV sedation is considered conscious sedation, you may even drift off to sleep during treatment due to extreme comfort and relaxation.

Your Safety is Our Priority

Our goal is to help you remain comfortable and at ease during treatment while you remain safe at all times. Our team of dentists and experienced dental professionals are highly trained and equipped with advanced knowledge in order to administer sedation in a safe and effective manner. Your vital signs and response to sedation will be closely monitored during your treatment to ensure optimal safety. If you have chosen IV or oral sedation, you will need to arrange for a trusted friend or family member to drive you to and from your appointment.
